Our copper work is formed by Hans Lipscher, a German-trained tinsmith, known in Germany as a Spengler. He completed a formal apprenticeship in Germany and has decades of experience shaping copper by hand, from full roofs to gutters, downspouts and ornamental pieces. It is a level of craft that is genuinely rare on the West Coast.

We fabricate and install standing seam copper roofs, copper gutters and downspouts, chimney mantles and bespoke architectural and ornamental details. Much of it is hand-formed from flat copper sheet rather than assembled from stock parts, so each piece is shaped to the specific home. Copper work is by commission.

Copper sits at the very top of the range, well above standing seam steel, because the material is premium and much of the work is formed by hand. Cost depends on the scope, from ornamental copper details and gutters to a full copper roof. Because every copper commission is bespoke, we assess the project in person and provide a detailed written quote rather than a square-foot estimate.
